Thematic platforms to discover cultural content
Online platforms by the Ministry of Culture reveal and show cultural content, to promote discovery, curiosity and the encounter with arts and culture.
To allow the appropriation of content by the greatest number or to address specific audiences such as teachers or prevented audiences, the Ministry of Culture develops thematic platforms to ensure that everyone meets the arts and culture.
The health crisis has disrupted digital cultural practices. The need for artistic and cultural offerings to “escape” the lockdown has led to the creation of online content, both to open new windows on knowledge and creation, and to help maintain the educational link.
The Ministry of Culture very quickly proposed a platform to aggregate all this content and facilitate access. Today, this platform still lists more than 1000 online content or events from 500 cultural actors present everywhere in France: exhibitions or virtual tours, films, documentaries, podcasts, games, tutorials, etc.
The site is a search engine that gives access, simply and free, to online documents presenting a work or group of works, for all artistic and cultural fields. More than 5,000 commented resources (paintings, sculptures, films, plays, operas, monuments, installations, gardens, art objects, etc.) online, including more than 2,000 in regions, developed by the public or educational services of cultural institutions that preserve, promote and disseminate these.
From prehistory to the contemporary period, history, daily life and know-how are presented by the greatest specialists, through pathways accessible to all.
POP - the Open Heritage Platform
The POP platform brings together the digital content of French heritage to make it accessible and accessible to as many people as possible. It includes databases for museums (Joconde database), movable heritage (Palissy database), architectural heritage (Mérimée database), photographs (Mémoire database), and artistic recoveries (MNR Rose-Valland database). More than 3 million documents are available.
The Ministry of Culture opens the doors of its digitized cultural heritage to the public, thanks to the semantic search engine Collections.
The Collections engine provides free access to more than 7.4 million documents and more than 5.6 million images.
