Restoration of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame and Saint-Castor - Episode 2: The Western Facade
With an operating budget of nearly 3 million euros, 100% financed by the State, this exceptional restoration project mobilizes a large number of actors: the chief architect of historic monuments, eight specialized companies and INRAP (National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research).
This second year of intervention is devoted to the restoration of the western facade, whose sculpted frieze was completed in summer 2024. When the terrace is completed in 2025, the removal of the scaffolding will reveal this operation.
In this expectation, this immersive documentary will take you to the heart of the project to meet the actors: the chief architect of historic monuments Pascal Prunet, a representative of regional conservation of historical monuments, the Tollis sculpture restorers, the master glassmakers who restore the stained glass windows of the En verre contre tout company and the archaeologists of INRAP (National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research).
