Historical monuments in Centre Val-de-Loire
A historic monument is a legal status attributed to a monument (or part of the monument) or to an object with sufficient historical, artistic and/or architectural public interest to render its preservation desirable. There are two levels of protection: registration and classification. The status of a historic monument means that an object or building is recognized for its heritage value in terms of history and art. As such, the owner of a historic monument has an important responsibility for the preservation of this legacy of history and its transmission to future generations.
You will find in this section the various actions resulting from the three essential missions of the Regional Conservation of Historic Monuments (CRMH), a presentation of the protection under historic monuments ; fact sheets related to the contracting authority works on state-owned monuments and furniture (including cathedrals) and data sheets related to scientific and technical inspection provided throughout the course of State-subsidized work on protected or registered monuments and furniture belonging either to local authorities or to private individuals.
